DESIGN-BUILD FIRM

We call ourselves "Landscapes by Design" because it properly articulates the fact that we design first and then landscape based on the design. As a design-build firm we are able to cast a vision, create a complete and comprehensive plan, and then fulfill that plan all within the same firm. Having both design and building capabilities within the same firm enables us to more accurately carry out the plans which are drawn.

Matt Diemer

PARTNER/PROJECT MANAGER/LIGHTING DIVISION MANAGER

Matt started with the company 8 years ago while he was pursuing his Civil Engineering Degree at ISU. Matt manages the lighting division and is a Certified Nightscape Installer, ICPI Level I Installer, and a Certified NCMA Retaining Wall Installer.

Matt particularly enjoys putting the final touches on a landscape project with accent lighting, and also enjoys the challenges associated with large complex paver installations. When not working long hours at LBD he enjoys traveling, backpacking, snowmobiling, and making his own special batch of homemade beer.

Justin Froehlich

PARTNER/OPERATIONS MANAGER

Justin started with the company 10 years ago while he was attending ISU to receive his BS in Business Management. Justin started as a crew member during the summer while attending ISU, and is now in charge of all day to day operations.

Justin is a Certified ICPI Level I Installer as well as a Certified Techniseal Applicator, and his specialty here is large complex paver installations. Justin is also a site manger for our snow operations, and enjoys plowing snow on large commercial complexes. When not at work, Justin enjoys attending ISU sporting events, golfing, and taking in a NFL game.

David John

PARTNER/ LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT/DESIGNER

Dave started with the company 3 years ago as a design consultant to fill a need to design large commercial and industrial projects. Dave graduated from ISU with a BLA in 1999.

After graduating he took a full-time position with Brian Clark and Associates where he and Weston enjoyed working long hours together. Dave has a diverse background in construction that allows him to work efficiently on various master planning and site design projects. Dave specializes in project management, master planning, site design, and is in charge of all our commercial bidding division. In his free time Dave enjoys snow boarding, attending ISU sporting events, and restoring old cars.
